We are reaching out to urge you to take immediate action regarding the recent cuts to the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule that will significantly impact our practices and the care we provide to our patients. As many of you may know, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) implemented a 2.83% cut to physician reimbursement on January 1, 2025, the fifth consecutive year of reductions to Medicare payments for physicians. Compounding this issue, medical inflation costs are projected to rise by 3.5% this year, further straining our financial resources and the sustainability of our practices. The FSR has been a steadfast advocate for addressing these cuts, and we are grateful for the leadership of Representatives Greg Murphy, MD (R-NC-03) and Jimmy Panetta (D-CA-19), who have reintroduced the Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act (H.R. 879). This crucial legislation aims to eliminate the 2.83% cut and provide a 2.0% payment update to stabilize our practices. Now, we need your help! We urge all rheumatologists and practice partners to join us in advocating for this important legislation. Please click the link below to contact your member of Congress and encourage them to cosponsor and advance H.R. 879. Your voice is vital in ensuring that Congress recognizes the immediate need to replenish these reimbursement cuts. Thank you for your commitment to our patients and our profession. Together, we can make a difference! Take Action Now! CLICK HERE
