Physicians and practices should be aware of two time-sensitive updates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

Review Your 2025 MIPS Final Score

CMS has released final scores for the 2025 Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). Your final score will determine your Medicare payment adjustment in 2027. To review your score, sign in to the Quality Payment Program using your HARP credentials.

If you believe CMS miscalculated your final score or payment adjustment, you may request a targeted review by selecting “Targeted Review” from the left-hand navigation. The targeted review period is approximately 60 days. It is now open and will close 30 days after CMS releases 2027 MIPS payment adjustments, which are expected in approximately one month. Targeted review decisions are final and are not eligible for further review by CMS.

Additionally, CMS is seeking feedback from physicians and practices about MIPS Value Pathways (MVPs), whether you reported an MVP for the 2025 performance year, are preparing to report one for 2026 or have not yet begun adopting an MVP.

The AMA encourages physicians and practices to participate in the survey and provide feedback on the future of MIPS reporting. Participation is voluntary and confidential. Eligible clinicians may also receive Improvement Activity credit for completing the survey. Access the survey here.
