The Florida Society of Rheumatology is proud to share that our resolution, “Preserving the Physician ‘Buy and Bill’ Care Delivery Model to Protect Patient Access and Affordability,” was adopted by the Florida Medical Association (FMA) at its 2026 Annual Meeting. This important resolution reinforces the need to preserve physician-administered treatment options and protect the buy and bill care delivery model as a safe, efficient, and patient-centered pathway for individuals living with complex and chronic conditions. During the FMA Annual Meeting, FSR physician leaders also continued important advocacy conversations with policymakers, including Rep. Byron Donalds, Sen. Gayle Harrell, and Rep. Karen Gonzalez Pittman, discussing the importance of protecting patient access, supporting physician autonomy, and ensuring Florida patients can receive the treatments they need. FSR remains committed to working with legislators, healthcare partners, and physician leaders to advocate for policies that put patients first. Thank you to the FMA House of Delegates for supporting this resolution and recognizing the importance of preserving access to physician-administered therapies.
