Alliance of Specialty Medicine and CSRO Support Effort to Stabilize Physician Reimbursement under the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS)

Last week, CSRO joined the Alliance of Specialty Medicine in a letter of support for Reps. Greg Murphy, MD (R-NC) and Tom Suozzi’s (D-NY) bipartisan legislation, the Provider Reimbursement Stability Act (H.R. 8163). This bill would modernize the budget neutrality mechanisms of the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) to improve stability in physician reimbursement and patient access.

Medicare physician reimbursement has failed to keep pace with rising inflation, resulting in inadequate payments to physician practices. Without reform, these cuts will continue to jeopardize access to specialty care for millions of Medicare patients. The Alliance has been a leading voice calling on Congress to deliver long-overdue reform — and the Provider Reimbursement Stability Act is a critical step in the right direction.
