2024 Annual Fellows’ Abstract & Poster Presentation Program

(This deadline is for the Fellow Poster Presentation Program. Exhibitors, the deadline for submission is June 11th, and entries should be emailed to FSR.)

The Florida Society of Rheumatology invites trainees to submit their research project and most interesting cases for presentation at the FSR 2024 Annual Meeting.

The top 6 abstracts (Clinical Cases and Research) will be selected for oral presentations on Sunday, July 14th from 8-9 AM.

All other selected abstracts will be invited for the Poster Session.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
Fellows-in Training in Rheumatology and other trainees (undergraduate, graduate, residents and fellows) in training from across the state are invited to submit abstracts of their original basic or clinical research findings in Rheumatology or interesting case reports.

The top 6 abstracts deemed to be most exceptional will be invited for oral presentations and judged after the presentations to receive a stipend of $1000 for 1st Place, $500 for Second Place and $250 for Third Place.

Fellows or trainees selected as presenters for poster or podium presentations will receive complimentary hotel accommodations for two nights (Friday and Saturday). Presenters are expected to attend on Sunday for the Oral Poster Presentations and Poster Walk.

ABSTRACT POLICY

• To have your abstract and poster presentations considered, please adhere strictly to the submission guidelines outlined in the FSR Abstract Policy.
• Abstract Submission Deadline: May 1st 2024. (NO EXCEPTIONS)
• Notification of abstract acceptance for oral or poster sessions will be made by email by May 31, 2024.

Requirement for all abstracts that receive notification of acceptance: 

Presenters will receive notification regarding the acceptance of their abstract by May 31, 2024.

• Printed on either photo or presentation-weight paper
• Finished size no larger than 3’ high × 4’ wide. (Backboards and Velcro tabs for mounting will be provided.)
• Must be displayed Friday, July 12th through the awards presentation on Sunday morning.
• Presenters are encouraged to be present at their poster during the Friday afternoon and Saturday morning breaks in order to engage in discussions about their abstracts with the physician meeting attendees.  View Agenda

Accommodations: Fellows or Residents selected as presenters for poster or podium presentations will receive complimentary hotel accommodations for two nights (Friday and Saturday nights). Presenters are expected to attend on Sunday for Oral Poster Presentations and Poster Walk. Fellows or Residents participating in Thursday programming are responsible for arranging their own hotel accommodations for Thursday night.

ALL fellows will be provided:

• Complimentary registration to the annual meeting.
• Invitation to the Saturday Fellows’ Luncheon.
• Invitation to the Cocktail Reception on Friday.
• Invitation to a Fellow Brunch on Sunday morning where cash prizes will be awarded.
• Ability to bring your Resume if looking for a position and add it to the “Job Board”.
• Option to attend the Sanctioned dinners on Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights.
